Dawson Place: Making a Difference

Recently, CHFCU donated $1,000 to Dawson Place child Advocacy Center, supporting their mission of safety, justice, and healing for child abuse victims.

Dawson Place is a non-profit organization providing safety, justice and healing to victims of child physical and sexual abuse, assault and neglect. They provide every service needed for victims and their families to receive the help they need all in one child-friendly localized place. It minimizes the number of times a traumatized child has to tell a heartbreaking story, by bringing each needed professional for a case into one building, reducing the trauma a child experiences.

CHFCU has committed to fundraising on behalf of Dawson Place each summer, please keep an eye out in our lobby for donation boxes during the summer months if you would like to contribute! Dawson Place accepts year round cash donations or items from their wish list, learn more here!

Community Highlights: 2023/2024

December 2023 we contributed $500 to the PGCA - Providence General Children's Association, as well as volunteer hours during their annual Community Day/Teddy Bear Lunch and Annual Gala, our commitment will continue this December!

December 2023, when the Arlington Food Bank was robbed of holiday meals, we responded by purchasing $500 of local beef to help replenish their supply.

July 2024, we volunteered and donated to Skagit Valley Regionals Annual Golf Par-Tee Fundraising Tournament. This tournament raised approximately $1.2 million for the Skagit Valley Regional Hospital Family Birth Center.

November 2023, we supported the local nurse's strike by providing snacks, hand warmers, and offering special loans for those in need.

Together, we are building a stronger, more supportive community.

Coming Soon, My First Nest Egg: Empowering Youth Through Financial Education

We are proud to announce our brand-new partnership with My First Nest Egg, The My First Nest Egg App gives parents the tools they need to grow their kids into successful adults. The creators are two moms, Nicolle and Annie, who spent hundreds of hours consulting with behavioral and psychological experts about how to instill necessary life skills in children. Using what they learned, they built the My First Nest Egg app for other families searching for an age-appropriate solution to teach financial literacy. My First Nest Egg helps you get your kids to make their beds, put on their own shoes, and get in the car on time while learning that compound interest can make or break financial success.

In partnership with My First Nest Egg, we're bringing dynamic tools and activities to FIVE local elementary schools in four of the Counties we serve, this includes easy to use premade lesson plans and content for teachers to incorporate, as well as free access to the My First Nest Egg app. In addition, our younger members and their parents will now have FREE access to the app filled with daily activities and exciting incentives to foster a healthy relationship and understanding of finances from a young age. At Community Healthcare FCU, we believe that children are our future, and financial literacy is crucial for their future goals and success. Let's build a brighter tomorrow, one lesson at a time.

YES! We Are Still Moving!

We are thrilled about the purchase of our first building and this great milestone for the credit union. While we had aimed to move in by the end of summer, unforeseen circumstances have slowed the remodeling process. Rest assured, we will keep you all updated on our progress and move date. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this transition.
